About Me

My photo
I am a retired teacher and school library media specialist. I work full-time for Surpass Software, work with my husband, Austin, selling real estate in Bartow and Gordon Counties, and volunteer at my church. I have two beautiful and remarkable grand-daughters who own my heart! (and gbaby #3 is due in March) I am also a relatively new quilter. I began taking classes about six years ago and have been in love with quilting ever since.

Machine Quilting for Beginners Class

Beginning January 3, 2012, I will be teaching machine quilting for beginning and intermediate quilters.  We will meet each Tuesday from 5:30 to 7:30 at Sew Sue's Fabric and Quilt Shop at 916 S. Wall Street.  We will focus on basic quilting terms and techniques, and we will learn a different pattern each month.  The cost is $30 per month.  Fabrics and quitling supplies will be available at Sew Sue's. You do not need to be an expert seamstress to participate in the classes...we will take it slowly, and I will offer individual attention to those who need a little extra help. Be sure to call or stop by Sew Sue's soon to reserve your spot as space is limited.

Sew Sue's has moved!

For local folks who have frequented Sew Sue's Fabric Studio for the past five years, you need to be aware that Sue and Gary have moved the store to 916 S. Wall Street.  It now goes by the name of Sew Sue's Fabric & Quilt Shop.  Be sure to stop by and welcome Sue to her new location, and be sure to browse her collection of quilting supplies, cotton fabrics, batting, and quilting books.  You'll be glad you did.

Welcome to my blog...

OK...so I am new to blogging, but I am going to attempt to use "Bits & Pieces" to share my passion for quilts and quilting.  I will share projects I am currently working on (usually too many at one time), my favorite blocks and patterns, a few tips I have learned along the way, of course, some photos of my favorite quilts.
